Very solid original truck but needs tidied.
1984 Ford Cortina Factory built 3.0 V6 Pickup. This was recently imported from South Africa and all tax and duty has been paid. The UK registration has already been applied for. It starts, runs and drives and is very solid and original, but has been a working truck so has picked up a few scuffs and minor bruises over the years.
Bodywork.
Factory built South African pickup similar to our P100 but slightly different length of bed. Very solid underneath. Never been welded and doesn’t need any. All original underside. Up top it has a few marks and scuffs. Crack on paint on roof. Couple of scabs under windscreen rubber on nearside at scuttle panel. Dent on nsf wing and one on osr bed at the rear. Various stonechips and minor scratches as it was a working truck. Still looks like the original paint.
Mechanics.
Very quiet factory fitted V6 3.0 Essex engine. Original 4-speed box and running gear. Starts, runs and drives and feels quite tight for an old truck. As with any 40-plus year old car will need a good checkover and service before being used in anger.
Interior.
Good dashtop, doorcards, headlining. Original bench seat which has no rips but could do with a deep clean.
Wheels.
Original steels with good tyres.
Our thoughts.
Solid old truck, which could be used as it is. If you wanted to take it to the next level then would need a bit paint and tidying up. Good basis for a project.
