Advertising for a customer. This car very much needs restored.
This Astra GTE Mk1 is a bit of a project, which someone has started doing work to and never finished it. More or less everything is with the car. We have some old paperwork, MOTs and part of the V5 so the new owner will need to apply. It’s showing 62k miles and has had 6 previous owners. It appears the car was last on the road in 2009.
Bodywork.
Looks to have had some repairs over the years. Has had sills replaced and evidence of repairs up in corners of the inner wings. The engine bay appears to have been repainted, but really wants done again. Can’t see any holes but there’s a few edges where it will need a good clean up with a wire brush and treated. Main floors sections look good. Rear quarter windows not fitted – there are two in the car but they are both for the same side. Paintwork will need redone as part of the project. Good doors, boot and bonnet.
Mechanics.
Engine is there but isn’t wired up and has not been run for a while. The rest is all standard but untested. Will need going through from front to back as part of the project.
Interior.
Seats in the main are good, but drivers side needs a small repair on the leather section near the headrest. Dashtop and clocks are good. Door cards are ok. Headlining needs replaced. Kick panels are missing.
Wheels.
Standard alloys, which are decent but will no doubt need new, up-to-date tyres fitted.
Our thoughts.
