Advertising for a customer and needs tidied up.
This is a 1987 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9. The customer has owned this for 22 years. It comes MOTd until January 2027. Starts, runs and drives, but could do with a bit tidying up. We have the V5 and some old MOTs for the car. It’s also been uprated to a 2.0 8V engine possibly from a 306. It’s covered 139k miles, but only done 4k in last 20 years.
Bodywork.
Solid underneath and looks fairly original apart from one repair on the end of the right hand sill. Bonnet pins have been fitted. Bit of rust bubbling on bottoms of wings, doors and rear sill area. Driver side has been touched up. Rub through on paint on roof. All body kit is good. Basically to make the car presentable you’d need to paint it.
Mechanics.
Good engine, upgraded to 2.0 as mentioned. Brakes, clutch and gearbox are fine and is MOTd until January 2027. Drives fine with no dramas. Looks to have been lowered a bit.
Interior.
All original interior, but a bit wear on seats, especially driver’s bolster. Still perfectly useable but again would benefit from a tidy up.
Wheels.
5 x 1.9 alloys with good Toyo Proxies on the front and Semperit tyres on the rear.
Our thoughts.
Cosmetically this might not be the finest looking example on the planet, but it’s a cheap way into a 205 GTI for someone that cant afford a minter.
