1980 Ford Cortina 1.6 GL. RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. The car is now UK registered. It starts runs and drives and is extremely solid underneath. It will need a cosmetic restoration and its a bit smoky on start up, so that will need investigated.

Body - Original and solid floors which have never been welded. Really good underneath. Will need lower outer quarters looked at as bubbling and rust on both sides. Inner wings are original and spot on. Paintwork will need addressed as had bits repainted before and its a different shade. few dings here and there

Mechanics - Original 1600 crossflow which starts ok and sounds quiet. When you demand a good bit of throttle it starts to smoke. It doesnt look like its been on the road for a while. We gave it a compression test and all cylinders were between 135 and 150. Might just need set up and a decent run or possibly a set of valve stem oil seals. Gearbox is fine as is the clutch. Brakes need a bleed as a minimum

Interior - Original and very tidy . All the seats are good. Door cards are good but have had speakers fitted. Good carpet, headlining and dashtop.

Wheels - Standard steels with chrome rings. They could do with a refurb.

This is a bit scruffy cosmetically but a very solid car which could be taken to the next level. You are welcome to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
