1979 Ford Escort RS2000 which we have imported from South Africa. Genuine Car which needs a bit work to finish and use, or upgrade to a better standard. All tax and duty paid and NOVA declaration done. We will assist the new owner with all the UK registration paperwork. This is a genuine car that needs a bit love. Please note South African RS2000s were slightly different spec to UK ones. They have the tramp bar brackets but use a Borg Warner axle and an anti roll bar on the back. The tramp bar brackets are on the shell but unused. They also had rolltop style seats and never got fishnets in South Africa.  

 

Body - RS2000 shell. Has the tramp bar brackets. Cut out for the clock and POD is original (see pic). Also has a build plate showing RS2000. We are also in the process of obtaining paperwork from Ford south Africa to confirm its an original RS2000. It looks ok in the pics but really needs done to a better standard. Good inner wings, strut tops, floors in the main look original but evidence of a couple of patch repairs on front floors. Boot wells have been repaired previously and not perfect. good doors. Main issue is the nose cone and bonnet have not been aligned very well which needs sorting out. Paintwork is perfectly presentable but if your doing it to a proper standard then expect to redo it. The colour on the build plate is New signal Orange.

 

Mechanics - 2.0 Pinto with correct alloy sump, Rs manifold and Alloy mounts. 5 Speed box fitted. we have had the car started and running briefly. Engine sounds OK. Starter motor sounds a bit rough and will probably need replaced. Electric pump fitted which needs put back to standard. Will need a new ignition lock as this ones shot.

 

Interior - RS2000 rolltop seats as fitted to SA cars. These look to have been retrimmed but not quite the correct material. RS dash, clock and pod, no centre console. Rs Steering wheel. Dash top looks to have been retrimmed but not very good. Door cards nare a bit scruffy and are useable but would need replaced if doing it properly.

 

Wheels - 7" Miniltes which are a touch too wide as currently rubbing front struts. Will either need spacers or replaced.

 

Genuine car which needs a hit work. I know 22k is a lot of cash but we have seen really rough almost basket cases do more than this at auction. Please feel free to come and see the car. We have  a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote
