An absolute classic, but needs restored.
This is a 1962 Ford Zephyr restoration project. This is a RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid and UK registration has been applied for. It’s a fairly solid original old car but will need work to get it on the road.
Bodywork.
Good inner wings, chassis, floors, inner sills, jacking points. Doesn’t look like it’s been welded previously. Will need a repair on the offise rear sill end as that’s holed, otherwise it looks pretty decent. It’s not plastered with underseal or similar so you can see what your up against. Paintwork is very period and probably looks better in the pics than it is. There are a few dry patches. If you wanted to make it a show car you’d be into a paintjob. Good grille and headlight surrounds. Window chrome is good. Bumpers will need rechromed.
Mechanics.
Not had it running as some parts are missing. Starter motor is a bit lazy. We have had it turning over. Clutch slave cylinder is also missing. Everything else is untested.
Interior.
Matching blue seats which look to have been retrimmed. Tidy enough. Door cards look original and useable but bit wear on drivers handle. Headlining is good. Carpet looks aftermarket or DIY.
Wheels.
Original steels with hubcaps and trim rings.
Our thoughts.
Some spares in boot, some looks useable and some is junk. Great project for someone as not a rotbox. As it’s a project we recommend you come and see the car and we can put it up on the ramp.
