Very original example and has never been welded.
1973 Ford Granada Mk1 3.0 Saloon. RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. Now fully UK Registered as PKE872L Very solid original old car which starts, runs and drives but hasn’t really been used much in last couple of years so will need a bit work to bring it up to scratch.
Bodywork.
Very solid and original old car. Original floors, inner wings, sills, arches. Car has never previously been welded but will need one small repair in the spare wheel well, otherwise it’s exceptional underneath. Paintwork looks fairly original as well. It’s presentable enough to use but has a few minor age related marks as you would expect. Small ding on front of bonnet and chrome round os headlight is a bit bruised.
Mechanics.
Good 3.0 V6, auto box works as it should, brakes are good. Will need a good service as a minimum and a bit of recommissioning work. Drives fairly smooth and feels like a car that’s not been in a million bits or clobbered back together. Power steering has been removed for some reason. Pump is still there but no belt or pulley. It’s driveable but at low speed steering is heavy.
Interior.
All original and in fairly good order. Front seats are good as are the door cards. Rear seats have splits on a couple of the stitching lines. Steering wheel is mint. Good headlining. Centre console top has cracks as has the glovebox lid.
Wheels.
Original steels with original chrome hubcaps. Tyres look old and would recommend changing them.
Our thoughts.
Really original old car which has survived better than most. With a bit of tinkering this will make a really honest example.
