Nice old Rover P4 which we are selling on behalf of a customer. The same family have owned the car since 1965 when it was purchased at 3 years old for £765 from Clyde Automobile Company in Glasgow. We have the bill of sale from 1965, two sets of keys, handbooks, service book, original dealer directory and a build slip showing the two tone colour scheme and the interior colour. The tool tray is full and has the original touch up pens still in place. The car was originally bought in 65 by the current owners father and it then passed to his daughter, the current owner, who got the car restored in 2004 and then put the car in the garage where it lay unused till early this year when she contacted us to see if we could assist with the sale. The original plate on the car was TRG 18 which she wanted to retain so we had to get the car MOTD before DVLA would allow the transfer. This has now been done and its up for sale.
Body - Good solid old car. Has had a few repairs but done to a decent standard and not unsightly patches. Car was also wirebrushed underneath and given a light coat of underseal to protect it. Paintwork was redone in 04 but this is its original two tone colour scheme. It has picked up a few marks from being in storage and the paint is flaking a bit on the lower passenger side front door. Overall though with a polish its a vert presentable old bus.
Mechanics - When it was restored many years ago it had new tyres, brakes, steering rods, track rods, kingpins and so on all of which still looks new today. We had to do two new rear wheel cylinders to get it through an MOT. I think it will need a master cylinder as well as the pedal seems to drop to the floor if left for a while but we are looking to attend to that. It also had a new fuel pump and the tank drained and fresh fuel put in it. The car starts runs and drives and sounds very good. Everything works as its just passed its MOT a few weeks ago.
Interior - All original and in good condition. Dash is very tidy and original tool kit is still in place as previously mentioned. Seats are decent. Would benefit from a good deep clean but no rips or tears.
Wheels - Standard steels with good tyres
Overall a solid old car with cracking history. It is on the button but may need a little further fettling as you go, much like any old car thats not been used for a while.
