Ford Escort XR3 5 Speed carb model. RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. NOVA declaration done. Will need MOTd prior to registration but we will complete all the UK paperwork for the new owner to register it. Very solid old car which doesnt appear to have been welded.

 

Body - 1984 MK3 Escort shell with two bolt strut tops and long rear roof gutters. Original inner wings, floors, crossmember, boot floor. Very solid old car. Has had a battery tray repair in the past otherwise very original. Paintwork is perfectly presentable but if you wanted a show car it would need redone. Being an African built car it has the spats front and rear on the arch lips. Few minor scratches and scuffs but nothing major. Small rust bubble on bottom of drivers door

 

Interior - Red strobe style seats in good condition, apart from one bit wear on the drivers bolster. Good door cards.Good headlining. Dashboard is cracked due to sun damage. 

 

Mechanics - Good quiet 1600 CVH and 5 speed box. Starts runs and drives and was still in use prior to export. As with any old car will need a checkover before use. 

 

Wheels - UK spec refurbished XR3 cloverleaf alloys with new 185 60 14 tyres.

 

Very solid decent old car with a bit room for improvement. The import thing is it is virtually rust free.. Please feel free to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath.
