1982 Ford Escort XR3. Early 4 Speed Carb Model. This is a right hand drive import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. We will do all the paperwork for the new owner to UK register it., This car is very original, really solid and doesnt appear to have ever been welded. There wont be many around like this. Car is showing 73000 kms which is approx 47000 Miles.

 

Body - Ford Escort XR3. Early type shell with the two bolt strut tops. Absolutely solid from front to back. It came from one of the driest parts of South Africa. Its never been welded and wont need any. Paintwork is fairly tidy and mostly original. Slight bit of lacquer peel on passenger side door at window seal. Car is very straight with good original panel gaps. Still has its original headlights and Ford spotlights. Its a non sunroof model. PDI marks still visible on strut top bolts etc.

 

Mechanics -  Good original 1.6 CVH Carb engine with 4 speed box. Car starts runs and drives . Engine is really quiet. Clutch and brakes are good. Carb may need a bit adjustment due to the different climate as has a flat spot when cold. Its ok when its warm. Everything appears to work as it should. 

 

Interior - Good uncracked dash. Seats are really tidy and firm with no rips or tears. Good parcel shelf. Door cards are good win the door bins still intact. Good headlining.

 

Wheels - African XR3 Alloys with good tyres. These are very slightly different to the UK ones as Uk centre caps dont fit.
