1976 Ford Escort RS2000 Broadstripe. Genuine early car which was extensively restored during 2015 with over 40K being spent and nearly 700 hours work put into it. We have the V5 here, all the bills for the restoration and parts bought, but no real history prior to 2014. The car has had sensible modifications done but if you want a completely standard one then this may not be for you. Its in superb condition throughout and drives fantastic.

 

Body - Early style RS shell with larger hole strut tops. Body is really straight, paintwork still looks really really good despite being done over 7 years ago. During the restoration it appears to have had new wings, front floors, rear wheel arches and inners repaired. Everything looks to have been done to a very good standard. The car is all body colour underneath and has a light coating of stonechip / raptor similar. Panel gaps are good  and its very straight along the sides. Strut top plate has the number on it but its not the original ford stamping. I suspect its been redone as part of the restoration process. Really good looking car 

 

Mechanics - 2.0 Pinto running around 150bhp with Twin 45s on it. Car starts , runs and drives well and idles when cold. It pulls cleanly with no spitting or popping from carbs. Gearbox has been upgraded to a 5 Speed. Rear disc conversion, gaz gold rear shocks, front coilovers, polybushed throughout, LSD, oil catch tank, battery relocated to the boot, new steering coupling. Everything was either replaced or refurbished as part of the restoration process.  

 

Interior - Correct rolltop seats which were refurbished by Aldridge as part of the restoration process. Rear seat was done to match. Good door cards, headlining, carpet and dash top. Clocks are the correct white needle type and all gauges are working. Has the clock and pod but no centre console. Not sure if this model had it fitted from new or not.

 

Wheels - 7 Inch JBW RS Replicas with Yokohama A539 tyres which dont appear to have been used much as all the tread is still good.
