Genuine Ford Escort RS2000. This is a base model RS which the current owner has had for over 10 years. Its been used as a Historic Stage Rally Car and has been very well maintained by the owner.It goes very well indeed and has had a fortune in parts put on it. This can be used as it is or turned back to road car spec quite easily as everything is bolt on, including the cage

 

Body - Genuine RS2000 shell. Bolt in Roll Cage, Firewalled, Shell is very solid. It has all the correct brackets in the right place. Front floors have been repaired at some stage using plate rather than contoured floor pans. Very solid but new owner may want to update this. Rally mudflaps, Extinguisher and electrical cutout. Sills have been strengthened for a rally jack. Paintwork is nice and tidy and car is straight along the sides. No signs of accident damage. This car looks to have been used for a bit of fun rather than "hard" competition. Spotlight brackets fitted. New laminated screen. Bronze Glass

 

Mechanics  - 2.0 Pinto with High Compression pistons, Rally Cam, Electronic Distributor, Vernier Timing Gear, Worked Head, Twin 45s. Alloy Sump, Quick Release Alloy Bellhousing, Type 9 5 Speed Box with quickshift, World Cup Crossmember with Competition Mounts, Bilstein Front Suspension with uprated springs and roller top mounts, Quick rack, adjustable TCAs, anti dive kit, AP Clutch, RS rear axle converted to cossy discs and calipers with Tran X LSD and 4.1 CWP, Diff has just been rebuilt. Vented Front discs, bias pedal box, group 5 steering joint,  one piece prop.

 

Interior - Side Mount sprint seats with Sabelt aircraft type belts, back seat has been retained  for road rally class, RS Dash, Uprated deep dish steering wheel, flocked dash, Aux switch panel which is all wired properly and fused.  Original headlining still in place and in good condition. Base model RS door cards with handles removed and relocated for ease when rallying.

 

Wheels - 6 x Superlites come with the car on Yokohama A008 tyres.

 

This is a genuine old car which is very tidy. You could have a lot of fun with it as it is or keep the goodie bits on it and convert it back to road car spec. Either way its a cheap way into a genuine RS which has not been welded from end to end. Please feel free to come and see the car. We have  a ramp so you can look underneath.
