1976 Ford Escort Mk2 fitted with 2.0 Pinto and 4 speed box. Quite a solid old car but definitely room for improvement. Imported from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. NOVA declaration has been done and we will assist the new owner with all the registration paperwork. Please note this is not a 1600 Sport but someone has fitted the decals.

 

Body - Early MK2 Escort shell with the big strut top holes. Good original inner wings, strut tops, floors. Driver side spare wheel well is original. Spare wheel well has had a repair in the past and needs redone. Might need small repair on drivers side front floor. Evidence of a bit of filler in lower rear quarters and door bottoms but not loaded with it. Overall not a bad starting point. Paintwork is OK and useable but no show car for sure. Mexico style front spoiler.

 

Mechanics - 2.0 Pinto engine. Doesnt have alloy mounts or sump. 4 Speed box. Starts runs and drives. Engine is quiet. Clutch gearbox and brakes seem OK. Will need checked over as with any old car. SA MOT is not as strict as ours so may need some work to bring up to standard.

 

Interior - Standard clocks. Aftermarket seats. Dash top has been recovered badly. Door cards are original but with speaker holes. Headlining is ok.

 

Wheels - 7J Minilite style wheels with 175/70/13 tyresNot a bad old car if you sort out the previous repairs and get a decent interior. Please feel free to come and see the car.
