Ford Escort 1600 Sport. RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. NOVA registration has been done and we will do all the paperwork for the new owner to register it in their name.Car starts runs and drives but will need a bit of restoration work to get it up to scratch.

 

Body - Export spec 1600 Sport shell with similar strengthening on the front to our RS models. Good inner wings, strut tops, rear arches, sills, doors, boot and bonnet, Good AB and C pillars. Boot wells have been repaired before horrendously and will need redone. Will need work on both front floors. Chassis rails are solid but have few dents. Paintwork is well worn and scruffy, with loads of scratches and minor dings so will need fully repainted to be a nice car. Has had an aftermarket sunroof fitted badly which now has no glass in it. It will need sorting out. Ive been over it with a magnet and only real signs of filler is the lower quarters above where the boot wells have been repaired. Drivers outer door handle missing

 

Mechanics - All standard Sport. Engine starts and runs. No smoke or rattles but will need a service and the carb adjusted to suit our climate as a minimum. Brakes clutch and gearbox are all ok but with any old car will need a good checkover before being sent full tilt down your local B road

 

Interior - All sport but a bit of a mismatch of different sport seats. Dash top needs replaced. Original door cards with speaker holes vut in.Generally scruffy inside.

 

Wheels - Chrome cyclone wheels.

 

This car will need work but the basic structure is fairly sound and its a decent starting point.Prices are rising and the supply of decent overseas cars is rapidly running out.
