Ford Escort Mk2 1600 Sport, RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. NOVA declaration done. Will need Uk registered but we will help you with this process.Externally not a bad looking car but really needs taken to bits and restored to a better standard.

 

Body - Export Spec two door MK2 Escort Shell with similar strengthening to our RS models. Good strut tops arches, wings, doors, boot , bonnet. Has had previous repairs to front floors, outer floor section between chassis rail and sill and boot wells. These have been done poorly. It is solid but really wants done to a better standard. Also previously had a repair of front of the inner wing where it meets the slam panel. Again its been done by a blind man and needs sorting.Rear floors, boot floor and chassis rails are original and good.  Paintwork is presentable but no show winner. Will also need a repair where front bumper bolts bolt through chassis.

 

Mechanics - Good 1600 crossflow . 4 speed box and all standard sport running gear with 9" rear brakes etc. Car starts runs and drives. we have drove it round the industrial estate but not much further as not registered.

 

Interior - Pretty scruffy. Original seats which have been recovered badly and want changing or redoing.

 

Wheels - Standard deep dish sport steels with 175 70 13 tyres. 

 

This car will need a bit work to turn it round but its a good starting point as not a basket case Decent well sorted MK2 escorts are now selling regularly for 15 to 20k and badged cars more.  Feel free to come and see the car . we have a ramp so you can look underneath.
