Ford Escort Mk2 1.6 Ghia. UK car. This car  has been owned by the same owner for about 10 years. It was used to go to shows then stored it till very recently. The car starts and runs but will need work to get it back on the road. Its never been welded and is very original but will need some work as described. We have the V5 but no history. 

 

Body - Good original inner wings. Strut top number still visible, will need a small repair where n/s inner wing meets bulkhead panel. Original wings, arches, sills all still on car. Boot floor is very good. Will need small repairs on front floors, Both boot wells will need attention, as will the lower section of the arch / quarter where it meets the boot wells. Door bottoms will need looking at on both front doors. Nearside indicator lens missing. Scuttle panel where it meets the windscreen will need repaired.  Im told the vinyl roof was replaced a few years back and still looks spot on.

 

Mechanics - Again very original. It starts no problem and the engine is really quiet. The gearbox feels OK and the clutch and brakes are working but the brakes will almost certainly need an overhaul after lying for 10 years. Car will need recommisioned mechanically but a good starting point as it looks totally complete apart from the air filter and indicator lens. 

 

Interior - Original ghia interior. good door cards, front seats, headlining and carpet. The back seat has got a bit wear on it and will need repaired.

 

Wheels - Original wheels which will need a refurb and new tyres fitted

 

Overall a very good survivor car which will need work but a great starting point. Please feel free to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote
