Ford Cortina MK1 GT fitted with 1600 crossflow . This car has been owned by the same family from new. It came from a very dry part of South Africa and is very very solid. Its never been welded. All tax and duty paid and we will complete all the registration paperwork for the new owner. Car is exceptional underneath for its age. The car is a genuine GT with tramp bars etc.

 

Body - MK1 Cortina export spec GT shell with extra strengthening between the bulkhead and strut tops. Car is superb underneath for its age. It has tramp bars fitted from the factory. All original, floors, sills, wings, boot floor, strut tops etc. Looks like its had a minor repair on the lower front wing drivers side. One tiny bit needing sorted on the inner sill which we are quite happy to do for the new owner.  Overall an extremely original solid shell. Paintwork has been redone at some stage a long time ago and will  need attention due to sun damage on bootlid and roof. We believe this is its original colour. 

 

Mechanics - Good quiet 1600 crossflow which starts first turn. No smoke or nasty noises. Original GT gearbox. Brakes and clutch are all good. Gearchange is a bit sloppy. All  standard GT suspension and brakes. Car starts runs and drives. Really wants putting back to a 1500. We have an engine available.

 

Interior - All original. Drivers seat will need retrimmed. One small mark on rear seat

 

Wheels - Standard steels and trims.
