Ford Cortina MK1 Saloon fitted with 1600 crossflow and 5 speed gearbox. Very very solid old car just in from South Africa. All tax and duty paid and we will complete all the registration paperwork for the new owner. Car is exceptional underneath for its age. Overall a very tidy example.

 

Body - MK1 Cortina export spec shell with extra strengthening between the bulkhead and strut tops. Car is superb underneath. All original, floors, sills, wings, boot floor, strut tops etc. Looks like its had a minor repair in spare wheel well at some stage but structurally it reall is very very good. Paintwork is nice and tidy. Would sit quite happily at most shows. Wont win first prize but still very tidy.. Small bit of bubbling on lower rear quarter on driver side and passenger side door bottoms. 

 

Mechanics - Good quiet 1600 crossflow which starts first turn. No smoke or nasty noises. 5 speed type 9 gearbox. Standard suspension and brakes. Car starts runs and drives well. Bit of play in steering . As with any old car will need a good checkover before using it in anger.

 

Interior - Very tidy red interior. No rips or tears. Good seats, headlining, doorcards and carpets. All guages work. Aftermarket rev counter fitted which is nasty and needs binned.

 

Wheels - Wide steels similar to Lotus but not genuine ones.
