1987 Ford Capri 280 Brooklands Turbo Technics with 37000 Miles from new. The 280 is, one of 1,38 built. Of the 1,038, around 100 280's were converted by Turbo Technics, 90 of them by customers taking their cars to Turbo Technics after they had bought them. Ten of the Turbo Technics conversions were done by Ford themselves prior to registration and this is one of the ten. We have the original Turbo Technics Certificate, pre-dating the date of registration, to prove it. 

The car went to Stornoway in 1990, and was used for a while before being put into storage.It was put back on the road in 2005 and used a bit till 2013 when it was again stored. In early 2020 it was given a full restoration..

 

Body - Full restoration in 2020.Corrosion in the scuttle panel, A-pillars, rear arches, rear wing bottoms and tailgate was cut out and replaced with new metal and the car was painted The underneath is perfect with no chassis or floor corrosion and no plating. Car is very straight along the sides and looks very well

 

Mechanics - All standard. Car starts , runs and drives spot on. Everything is standard. This car will sit quite happily with modern day traffic and was driven to us last week from Stornoway.  Rear shocks have recently been replaced

 

Interior - All standard. A few bits went missing while it was in storage and had to be replaced such as the steering wheel and gearknob. Small bit of wear on drivers bolster otherwise very tidy. Small headcloth on sunroof panel has also picked up a small tear when in storage. Blaupunky Bremen stereo which has been modernised with hands free phone, DAB etc.

 

Wheels - Original 280 Alloys x 5 with good tyres.

 

This is a very nice example which needs a few minor jobs doing but could easily be made as nice as any. Its a very rare car being one of the ones converted from new.
