Selling on behalf of a customer. Please note we had this car up for sale about a month ago at a lot more money but have found out that the car was reshelled around 20 years ago. You can tell as the roof gutters are a little shorter than they should be for this model and year.  The customer has asked us to relist it at less money. Ford Escort Series 1 RS Turbo we are selling on behalf of a customer. He has owned the car for 11 years and has recently spent a small fortune detailing underneath the car to a very high standard. The car is a superb looking example which with a bit minor work could be as good looking as any. We have some history and old MOTs with the car and it will come with 1 years MOT.  The mileage is 110,000 with the car having only covered about 700 miles in the last 15 years. The car was restored about 20 years ago as far as we know at which time another shell was sourced.  As mentioned it was recently all detailed underneath. Since then its done zero road miles and only been put in and out a trailer. Its had 10 previous owners. 

 

Body - Car was restored around 20 years ago and was reshelled. Body is very straight, paintwork is lovely. Panel gaps are good. bodykit is good. Sunroof has no discolouration round edge like many.No rust. One tiny minor paint chip on door edge otherwise a very good straight looking car. Underside is all body colour which was recently refreshed and has not done a mile since. Its as clean underneath as it is on top.

 

Mechanics - All standard apart from dump valve and scorpion exhaust. Engine starts and runs no problem. Quiet engine with no smoke or tappet rattles.Small fortune spent underneath recently as mentioned. New struts, springs, shocks, track rod ends, track control arms, bushes, handbrake cable, bolts, alloy parts vapour blasted. Anything that wasnt new has been cleaned powdercoated or painted. New master cylinder

 

Interior- Again all standard and as it should be.Dash is pretty much perfect apart from one tiny 5mm crack on one of the vents. Hardly noticeable but only right to point it out. Seats door cards and carpet are in the main really good and original. Slight bit of wear on drivers bolster where the piping joins the fabric. Original radio.

 

Wheels - Correct original alloys with markings on 3 of the spokes. Good Year tyres which are like new . 3 of them are marked 85 4. cant read the 4th one.
