1983 Opel Manta 400 Rothmans Replica. Now we normally buy Classic Fords but this one was just too cool too pass up and we had to have it, albeit probably only for a short while. The previous owner has had it since 2012. The car starts runs and drives well and has a current MOT till August 2025. We have the V5 and a good few old MOTs dating back to about 2015.
The car started life as a 1.8 Manta Berlinetta in Gold.

Body - Very solid car with Manta 400 kit. Bonnet is fibreglass, as are the one piece front wings. Rear wings are riveted and not blended in as they would probably be on a rally car. Floors are all good and were paintred white when it was built. Could do with a bit cleaning and a freshen up on a few bits whee paint is cracked or flaking. No holes or rot underneath. Rothmans rally decals, two up two down spotlights, full glass and no perspex windows. Car looks to have been built as a fast road car for a bit of fun. If its done any competition stuff I think its been light use. Full bolted in roll cage in the car.

Mechanics - Engine has been upgraded to a 2.0 with 5 speed box. Engine is running twin 45 carbs but we dont know the spec otherwise. It starts easy, ticks over from cold and pulls cleanly through the revs with no spitting back from the carbs. Clutch is good, gearbox is fine. Brakes are non servo assisted so need a good push but have a good pedal and work well when heated up.
Its fitted with a oil cooler up front, twin fuel pumps, fuel pressure regulator, fly off handrake, bilstein shocks front and rear.

Interior - Rally style interior with two bucket seats, harnesses, fire extinguishers, fuse and switch panel on dash, master switch cut off on bulkhead and on dashboard. Floors are painted similar to the underside which is a bit worn as the car was used. The seats and harnesses are out of date.

Wheels - 4 x 5 spoke wheels with 225/50/15 Toyo tyres. Spare is a Manta GTE wheel
