1976 Ford Escort Mk2 1.3. RHD Import from South Africa. Car start runs and drives but will need restored. All tax and import duty paid and NOVA declaration done. Will need work in some areas but the rest is fairly solid. This was a two owner car in SA. The first owner cared for it lovingly and the second painted in purple, put disgusting wheels which are now in the scrap pile.
Body - Mk2 Escort 2 Door. Good strut tops and original inner wings. Will need work on front floors, heater bubble, spare wheel and tank wells, inner sills. Evidence of a previous bump at front of inner wings just behind slam panel but not heavy. Good doors, boot and bonnet. Paintwork was done by a blindman in an African sandstorm.
Mechanics - Decent 1.3 crossflow which fires up no problem. Seems to be quite quiet and runs well. Clutch brakes etc all work. Car drives not too bad but will obviously need fully checked over and MOTD unless you wait till May when it will also be MOT exempt.. Carb will need adjusted a little due to different climate
Interior - Well worn. Throw it away and start again.
Wheels - Steel chrome cyclones
Overall this is a bit of a scruffy old dog but has potential and is way better than something thats seen 20 years in a damp UK "Barn". Please feel free to come and look, poke prod, count the oil leaks. We can put it up on the ramp so it can drip oil in your hair. Delivery can be arranged if required.
