Ford Escort 1600 Sport, RHD Import from Sunny South Africa. All tax, duty and NOVA done. We will assist you with UK registration. Solid car and very original underneath. Will need a cosmetic and mechanical restoration.

Good basis for a project. 

 

Body - MK2 Escort export spec shell with similar strengthening to our RS models. Good solid original inner wings, strut tops, sills, arches, pillars and floors. Its only ever had repairs in the boot wells (badly) which need sorting but otherwise pretty square and original undcerneath. Needs a small repair on the top bulkhead area just below the heater bubble. Paintwork is a bit average at best and panels a bit ripply. Looks like a blind panel beater has knocked some of the dents out with his mates golf shoe. Really needs repainted to a better standard but decent shell as a starting point. 

 

Mechanics - All standard 1600 sport. Engine sounds decent but will need a good checkover ./ service etc. Gearbox is standard 4 speed but jumps out of reverse. Clutch and brakes OK. 

 

Interior - Sport seats which are original and useable but really need tidied up a bit as is the case with most of the interior.

 

Wheels - Standard deep dish sport steels

 

Running and driving project. No show winner at the moment but got potential and definitely not a rotbox. Please feel free to come and see the car when it is safe to do so. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required please ask for a quote.
