Ford Cortina 1.6 Pickup. This is  factory built vehicle in South Africa with the rare styleside body rather than the later body similar to the P100. This truck has never been welded and in the main is very dry and solid but will need some repairs. Quite scruffy as it was a work truck. Was still in use prior to export

 

Body - Genuine Ford built pickup or bakkie as they are known in South Africa. Never been welded. Good original inner wings, sills, front floors, body sides, tailgate, doors, bonnet. Bit of a rust bubble on passenger side scuttle. Will need repairs on rear floor of cab both sides which is common as its the lowest point and water collects there. Will also need a repair on front floor of pickup body. Paintwork is very scruffy but you can see its hod hiding anything.. All panels are good and no evidence of filler. 

 

Mechanics - Pickup starts runs and drives and was still used regularly in SA. It will need a good checkover and the carb might need a bit of adjustment due to the different climate. Clutch brakes gearbox all good. 

 

Interior - All complete but pretty scruffy as it was a working truck.

 

Wheels - Standard steels with average at best tyres

 

Very honest old truck which needs a bit light restoration. There are only a handful , if that of bakkies with this bodystyle over here so its very rare. Please feel free to come and see the truck.
