1972 Ford Cortina 1.6 Automatic. RHD import from South Africa which starts runs and drives. All the tax and duty has been paid and the NOVA done. We will complete all the paperwork to UK register it for the new owner. This is areally solid honest old car. It doesnt appear to have been welded and is a great basis for a rolling restoration

Body - Good inner wings, floors, chassis rails door posts, pillars , sills , arches, boot floor. Car is pretty straight with only minor scuffs and dings. No major damage. Bit of light surface rust on bottom of front and rear panels. Minor bubbling on scuttle and top of one wing. Paintwork is perfectly useable but if you wanted a show winner youd need to paint it.

Mechanics - 1.6 Crossflow engine and auto box. Starts and runs. Throttle feels a bit stiff but does work. End sounds ok. Starter is a bit intermittent and sometimes just clicks but works most of the time. Gearbox is a wee bit lazy and suspect it will need the fluid level checking. Brakes work Ok . Will need carb adjusting due to the different climate. Car was in use prior to export but will need a good checkover prior to being used in anger

Interior - Original interior which is quite worn. Early sloping dash model. Seats will need repairs, door cards are useable. Headlining has small tears

Wheels - Standard steels with factory hubcaps and trim rings which are a bit bruised.

This car is a great basis for a project . rolling resto / engine swap. The shell really is in great condition for its age. Please feel free to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
